Holy Ramayan
Lord Vishnu in Sheshasayi posture
Continued from part 5 :
Chapter 45 narrates the allegory of Samudra Manthan or the Churning of the Milky Ocean by the Gods and Asuras with the help of Kurma Avatar of Lord Vishnu. It is one of the most famous allegories in our sacred literature and a literal translation would be quite confusing.
Sage Vishwamitra crossed the river Ganga with his entourage and reached the city of Vishala situated on the northern bank of the river. Lord Ram enquired about the city and Sage Vishwamitra bagan to narrate the legend of Lord Indra associated with the city.
Kurma Avatar and Samudra Manthan
As per the legend, the sons of Goddess Diti were very powerful and the sons of Goddess Aditi were very righteous and vigorous in the Krita Yuga or primordial golden age. They wanted to live without decay, disease and death and so decided to churn the Milky Ocean to extract the Elixir of Immortality. They used Vasuki, the celestial serpent as the churning rope and Mount Mandara as the churning axle and began to churn the Milky Ocean. After a thousand years Vasuki was unable to bear the friction of churning and began to discharge a deadly poison from its mouth. This deadly poison known as Halahal began to melt the rocks of Mount Mandara and burnt all creatures. The Gods approached Lord Shiva, also known as Rudra, for deliverance and He appeared before them. Lord Vishnu also appeared at that place at the same time and requested Lord Shiva to drink the Halahal poison to save the world. So Lord Shiva drank the Halahal poison as if it were nectar and departed to His abode. The Gods and Asuras began to churn the Milky Ocean again but found out that Mount Mandara had sunk into the Netherworld or Patal. So the Gods approached Lord Vishnu for deliverance. He took the form a celestial Tortoise or Kurma and placed Mount Mandara on His back and stretched out His hands and grabbed the top of Mount Mandara and made it steady for the churning to continue. After a thousand years of churning, Lord Dhanvantari, the God of Ayurveda emerged from the Milky Ocean with a staff and water pot or Kamandulu. Thereafter celestial fairies known as Apsaras emerged from the Milky Ocean. A large number of these Apsaras emerged and they were followed by their female attendants. They were not chosen by any of the Gods and Asuras and so they remained free to go anywhere at will. Thereafter the celestial wife of Lord Varuna, known as Varuni emerged from the Milky Ocean. The sons of Goddess Diti did not choose her but the sons of Goddess Aditi did and so the sons of Goddess Aditi came to be known as Suras. Next to emerge from the Milky Ocean was the best of the horses called Uchchishrava. The jewel of jewels called Kaustubha followed next. The last to emerge from the Milky Ocean was the Elixir of Immortality known as Amrita. As soon as the Amrita emerged, a great dispute arose between the Gods and Asuras regarding its possession and it ultimately gave way to a great cosmic war between them. When the war was about to annihilate the three worlds, Lord Vishnu took the Amrita away by assuming the form of Mohini or Illusory power. The Asuras who confronted Lord Vishnu were all destroyed and as a result the Gods were able to annihilate the Asuras. The Gods became immortals by consuming the Amrita and took possession of the Kingdom of Heaven along with the Sages and celestial singers. Lord Indra became the King of the Gods and He ruled the three worlds happily.
This allegory has three different layers of meanings which are all true simultaneously. The three layers of meanings are AdiBhautikam or physical meaning, AdiDaivatam or divine meaning and Adhmatyikam or spiritual meaning.
The geologically active core of the earth and the resultant Pole shift is the AdiBhautikam or physical meaning of Samudra Manthan. The diagrams below depicts Mount Meru or the earth's magnetic field and Mount Mandara or the earth's core surrounding the magnetic field.

The Pacific Ring of Fire or underwater volcanic region is allegorically represented as the serpent Vasuki that literally churns the earth's core. The Halahal poison is an allegory for volcanic lava and radioactive material spewed by the earth's core.

This architectural diagram of a temple spire gives a clue about the interiors of Mount Kailash.
These temple spires imitates the interiors of Mount Kailash.
Mount Kailash is the world's oldest and largest pyramid built for Lord Shiva as His abode and it is the only peak in the world where people are not allowed to climb even today. The pilgrims who go for the annual Kailash pilgrimage report unusual fast growth of nails and hair during the ritual circumambulation of the sacred pyramid. The energy that causes it is the nuclear energy from the the reactors inside.

The emergence of Amrita from the Milky Ocean is an allegory for the Alchemical metal alloy produced by Soma Yaga as I have already explained in my previous blog on Soma.
The Precession of the earth
A Gyroscope demonstrating the Precession of the earth
The constellation Orion or KalPurusha
Lord Shiva as KalPurusha
The Precession of the earth along its rotational axis in a cycle of approximately 26000 years is the AdiDaivatam or divine meaning of Samudra Manthan. The earth wobbles on its axis and it takes approximately 26000 years to make a full wobble. During this cycle the North Pole of the earth points towards the constellation Draco and constellation Orion alternatively - Orion rises in the south while Draco descends on the north and vice versa. The earth's magnetic north pole always points to the Pole star or Dhruva Nakshatra. It is important to note here that during the time of Ramayan the Pole star or Dhruva Nakshatra was part of the constellation Draco or Shishumara Nakshatra. Lord Vishnu is the cosmic allegory for this Shishumara Nakshatra comprising of 14 stars -
Dharma
Uttanapada
Kratu
Narayana
Samvatsara
Twin Ashwins
Aryama
Varuna
Mitra
Agni
Indra
Kashyapa
Dhruva
It is also important to note here that the Shishumara Nakshatra or constellation Draco is closely associated with the first three Avatars of Lord Vishnu - Matsya Avatar,Kurma Avatar and Varaha Avatar. This chapter of the Holy Ramayan deals only with the Kurma Avatar and so I will keep the discussion focused on Kurma Avatar.

Lord Vishnu
According to the AdiDaivatam or divine interpretation the Shishumara Nakshatra or constellation Draco is the celestial serpent Vasuki on top of which Lord Vishnu resides and which also acts as a churning rope coiled around the magnetic North Pole or Mount Mandara / Meru. The act of churning the Milky Ocean is an allegory for the Precession of the earth. The Gods and Asuras are positive and negative energy fields respectively. The valuables that emerged from the churning are the 14 stars of the Shishumara Nakshatra themselves. Narayana is Lord Vishnu, the Halahal poison drunk by Lord Shiva is an allegory for the descending phase of the constellation Orion or KalPurusha during the Precession cycle. I have already explained in my previous blog that Lord Shiva is an allegory for the constellation Orion and it must be understood that the balance of the universe is maintained by the alternative ascending and descending phases of the constellations Orion and Draco. The appearance of the Kurma Avatar is likewise an allegory for the ascending phase of the constellation Draco. The emergence of Lord Dhanvantari and Uchchishrava correspond to the Twin Ashwins who are known as the celestial physicians. The emergence of Varuni and the Apsaras correspond to the Varuna Nakshatra in the Shishumara constellation. The Kaustubha jewel and Mohini correspond to Narayana and hence Lord Vishnu Himself and He is also the personification of Amrita or the Elixir of Immortality.
Samudra Manthan
The human body serving as the Microcosm of the universe is the Adhmatyikam or spiritual meaning of Samudra Manthan. The act of Samudra Manthan is an allegory for the raising of the Kundalini Shakti while Vasuki is Kundalini Shakti and the spinal cord is Mount Mandara. Lord Dhanvantari and Uchchishrava are the healing powers of Kundalini Shakti. Varuni is the hallucinogen that helps raise the Kundalini Shakti. The Apsaras and Mohini are the illusions of the physical world and Amrita is Lord Vishnu Himself who can be attained only by the Gods and Sages who have raised the Kundalini Shakti.
The Kundalini Shakti is a latent energy that remains coiled in the sacral plexus region of the spinal cord. The coccyx or the end of the spinal cord forms the base from which the Kundalini Shakti starts its journey when awakened. If you follow the human anatomy thoroughly you will notice that certain regions along the spinal cord has specific nerve endings. These regions are called Chakras in the spiritual realm and they are connected by Nadis all the way up to the brain. The lowermost Chakra around the coccyx is called Muladhar Chakra followed by Swadhishthan Chakra around the sacral plexus, Manipura Chakra around the Navel, Anahat Chakra around the heart, Vishuddhi Chakra around the throat, Agna Chakra around the forehead with links to the pineal gland and Shahasrara Chakra in the cerebral hemisphere inside the brain. The Nandis Ida and Pingala stretches from the Swadhishthan Chakra and connects all the Chakras in a double helix pattern to finally merge on the Agna Chakra, while the Sushumna Nadi stretches right upto the Shahasrara Chakra. The right path to raise the Kundalini Shakti is through the Sushumna Nadi and it requires prolonged Yoga for years. The Kundalini Shakti awakened Yogi attains miraculous powers or Shiddhis like Clairvoyance, Levitation,Telepathy, Teleportation etc.
This animated diagram shows the brain controlled nervous system inside the human body. Some specific areas have major nerve endings and these are referred to as Chakras as you can see below.
The Pineal gland releases a chemical called DMT ( DIMETHYLTRYPTAMINE ) when the Kundalini Shakti is raised to the Agnya Chakra. This DMT creates an altered state of consciousness in the Yogi's brain that helpes to communicate with other dimensions. This is Amrita or the Elixir of Immortality.
This animated picture shows the location of the Pineal gland inside the human brain

This animated picture and the one below show the astral travel of the Kundalini Shakti raised Yogi who can experience the higher dimensions in the spiritual realm.

To be continued .......
In the end I just like to say that we need the Lord more than ever before. Five thousand years have passed since the end of the Kurukshetra war and our country has lost 80% of her territory and wealth. Only the Lord can make Bharat Varsha great again in the form of Kalki Avatar.
Come back O Lord and save us.
